Podcasts: The Modern Storytime

We believe one of the problems with social apps like Facebook is that they seek to capture all the monetization themselves without sharing any with their users. We intend to do the opposite of that. That's essentially why we created Podcoin.

Podcoin incents the richest long-form story format of our times: Podcasts. We quantify listening time. We match excess time with emerging storytellers. We make podcasts simple. We make podcasts pay.

We believe stories make the world better. We seek to do for podcasts what Spotify did for music: increase total listening time, except we go further. Our mantra is not “All You Can Eat.” It’s “We Pay You to Eat.

It is stories that make us human. We are storytelling creatures. Research shows stories make us live longer, reduces stress, and staves off Alzheimer’s disease. Let me say that again: stories makes us less likely to die. It promotes empathy and emotional intelligence. It helps us find purpose and meaning.

But we don’t consume enough. We spend all our time on attention-splitting social apps, designed to distract us.

Our mission is to increase the time the world spends listening, because stories help us find meaning, they make us more emotionally in touch, they make us more human.

Thanks to the generosity of Podcoin, we will raise money to help children get the support and resources they need in their fight against cancer. Podcoin demonstrates the good social apps can achieve when they promote world positive endeavors.
